Palliative Care Volunteer Service (Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District)

Volunteers provide support to those with a life limiting illness, and their carers/families for up to 4 hours per week. This support enables a person to stay at home for as long as they wish and/or to give the carer a break. A free 30 hour training program is held yearly, and volunteers are supported through ongoing mentoring and monthly meetings. Interested persons are required to comply with a National Police and Working with Children check, and undergo clearance to a number of infectious diseases.
