The Carer Gateway Counselling Service is a free service for carers. Each weekday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, our professional counsellors are waiting to talk through the concerns you have and how you feel about your carer role.
To use the service, simply select ‘Request a Callback’ on our web page, fill in your details and we will call you back within one business day. You can also call 1800 422 737 and Select Option 2 to speak to our team.
Carer Gateway will connect unpaid carers with free local services and supports including carer support planning, counselling, in-person peer support from carer peer workers or support groups, facilitated coaching, tailored support packages, and emergency respite. Multi-lingual coaching and peer support are also available in Arabic.
The Carer Gateway website provides an online forum that you can join and become part of a supportive online community with other carers.
Carer Gateway services are not means tested and accessing support doesn't impact any other Centrelink Carer Support Payment/s you may be recieving. You do not need to be recieving a Centrelink Carer Support Payment to access this service, all unpaid carers are able to access Carer Gateway.
