Nepean Multicultural Access
This resource has been developed as a guide for Penrith local services working or willing to work with young people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities (CALD). This guide may help youth Drop-in centres and services in providing activities, workshops and information sessions for CALD young people and community groups. It will assist them to make their services a more welcoming environment for CALD communities.
In order to address the issues and the needs of the local CALD youth, NMA sought to develop a project to connect CALD young people and their families to the relevant services and at the same time, work in partnership with local youth and other services to connect them with CALD young people and families.
The Breaking Barriers Bringing Understanding (3BU) Project is an initiative of Nepean Migrant Access Inc. (NMA) funded by Nepean Blue Mountains PIR under the Innovation Fund 2015. The project studied the mental health perspectives of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities in the Penrith, Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and Lithgow LGAs.
