CYBER_SHED digital + learning + advocacy + web + mobile + apps

CYBER_SHED is Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre’s (BANC's) community-based digital literacy outreach service. We are passionate about using online technologies to make lives easier, including opportunities offered by assistive technologies. CYBER_SHED services an area with a great need for digital inclusion to overcome isolation. The Blue Mountains Local Government Area has a higher than national average aging population, and the Blackheath area has the highest older demographic within the LGA. Our area also has a higher than average number of single person households. Hence, the issue of overcoming social isolation is one of CYBER_SHED's prime motivations.
